November is buteo month

November has finally arrived. The leaves are off the trees and the cold north winds are beginning to blow. We have actually had a few dustings of snow already.

Saw Whet Owl Banding Station

We banded 35 saw whets this season. It was a pretty wet season and we probably would have banded quite a few more if it did not rain all the time, but it was very successful.
